ABC Coin is a privately owned company founded in 1979. The company began by selling and servicing portable coin counters, typically used by the vending and car wash industry. In 1992, Jim and Sharon Fox bought the family business that Sharon’s Dad started and moved it to Frisco Texas, the present location. The introduction of new products and suppliers has helped ABC Coin move into broader markets that include financial institutions and retail. Today they not only sell and service a full line of coin and currency equipment, but also manufacture specific products for the markets they serve. ABC Coin is the largest independent distributor of Lobby Coin Counters in the U.S. They support the largest installation base of Lobby Coin Counters in the U.S.

In 1992, ABC Coin sold it’s first self-service lobby coin counter, which was only the second one to ever be sold in the U.S. Since that time we have been instrumental in the development of the market and equipment. In 1996 Jim Fox helped design and develop the automatic coin cleaner that today is used on all 5 of the Scan Coin Lobby coin counter models.

A strong marketing emphasis has driven ABC Coin to be innovative by not only trade marking the COIN EXCHANGE slogan and image, but by developing other unique designs for customers which tell the story of the lobby coin counter to the end user.
